With over two decades of experience, Denise has worked as a senior-level planner for local governments and as a consultant for the public and private sectors. Denise understands the varied perspectives of governments and the development community and is proficient at working with diverse stakeholders to address complex issues.

Denise is a regular speaker at local, regional, and national events, for groups such as the American Planning Association, National League of Cities, U.S. Green Building Council, and the Georgia Planning Association. She was a featured speaker at TEDxCreativeCoast (view her talk here).

Giving back to the community is a priority and Denise volunteers her time generously. Examples of her community leadership include:

Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) - Denise currently serves as the District One representative on the SCCPSS Board of Education.

Healthy Savannah Steering Committee - Healthy Savannah is dedicated to making Savannah a healthier place to live through increasing opportunities for citizens to engage in physical activity and consume a nutritious, balanced diet.

Ossabaw Island Foundation Board of Trustees - Ossabaw Island, Georgia’s 3rd largest barrier island, is a Heritage Preserve owned by the State of Georgia. The non-profit Ossabaw Island Foundation, through a public-private partnership with the State of Georgia, inspires, promotes and manages exceptional educational, cultural and scientific resources that are designed to maximize the experience of Ossabaw Island, while minimizing the impact on its resources.

Friends of Tide To Town - Denise is a founding board member of this non-profit organization working to develop the Tide To Town Urban Trail System.  Tide To Town includes a 30-mile core loop connecting downtown to our coastal marshes plus additional connections to all of Chatham County.
